People Telecom Appoints Satellite Man As CEO Print E-mail

People Telecom is about to get a new head honcho as current CEO, Ryan O'Hare, moves to a non-executive post to make way for the man from Intelsat.

John Stanton, who was also once the man from OTC will take over the role of Chief Executive Officer and Director for the People Telecom group of companies on the 7th of August.

Stanton is returning to Australia from the UK after 6 years at Intelsat where he was the President of Intelsat Global Sales & Marketing and President of Intelsat's Data, Carrier & Internet Business Unit.

Stanton was also Chairman of numerous subsidiaries within the Intelsat group and is a former Chairman of the Intelsat Board of Governors.

Stanton has held a number of senior management positions since his telecommunications career began in 1990 at OTC Limited.

After the creation of Telstra Stanton held a succession of senior roles there, responsible for corporate relations, international carrier relations and satellite and cable investments.

He was also Managing Director of Telstra Payphones & Card Services prior to his departure to Intelsat in 1999.
