Exinda Networks adds two new Application
Specific Analysis Modules (ASAM) that boost the network management capabilities
for Voice over IP (VoIP) and Citrix application monitoring.
Application traffic management systems
generally do a good job of monitoring and managing regular data streams, but
when it comes to handling VoIP traffic, corporate networkers are generally
going to need something a little extra.
Exinda Networks, a global supplier of
intelligent application traffic management systems for enterprise, government
and service provider clients has its research and development offices are
headquartered in Melbourne,
but its solutions are deployed in over 15 countries.
The new VoIP and Citrix firmware for the
company's 4700, 4800, 6700 or 6800 hardware platforms was Beta tested by Mornington
Peninsula Shire, the local government organization. It used the new Citrix module,
though.
The VoIP module tracks Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP)-based call information including phone numbers, call duration
and CODEC being used. The VoIP module
tracks and reports in real-time on network utilisation.
It spits out detailed reports help to
identify top callers and receivers on the network and how they consume network
resources.
The Citrix tracking module monitors which
applications are being used, allowing the network manager to create the most
efficient acceleration policies for the network.
The new modules can be downloaded from the
Exinda website at no cost for the 4700, 4800, 6700 or 6800 hardware platforms.
The new firmware will also be available with Exinda's next service firmware in
the third quarter of 2006.
