Logitech continues to increase its range of VoIP oriented PC accessories, releasing new USB speakerphones and a cordless desktop that works with Skype.

skypedesktopFor the European market, Logitech has teamed up to deliver an exclusive deal with Skype, while in the US the new cordless desktop will work with Yahoo! Messenger with Voice and AOL's AIM service in the U.S.

The European edition of the new Logitech EasyCall Desktop combines a mouse, headset and speakerphone with the world's first Skype-specific keyboard.

With one-touch buttons for launching Skype software, placing a call, ending a call, changing the user's online status, and dialling a mobile or traditional phone the desktop is a complete solution for Internet calling.

The full-duplex speakerphone includes Logitech RightSound Technology, which the company says eliminates echoes for clear headset-free Internet phone calls.

The speakerphone acts as the control center for the Internet calling experience, with volume up and down, mute, call pick-up, and call hang-up buttons that make it easy for people to manage Internet calls.logitech_speakerphone

The product also comes with a stereo headset that can be plugged into a convenient port on the speakerphone when privacy is important.

In September, the two companies plan to begin jointly marketing the European desktop by combining Logitech's established channels, backed up by the online Skype store.

Three new phones were also added to the Logitec range. A USB Speakerphone, a Cordless Internet Handset and a neat Cordless Headset that works with either a PC or a Mobile phone.

The USB speakerphone uses a two-microphone array - one on each side of the wing-shaped phone - that can capture voices and sounds from a wider area in a room, transmitting even whispers from several feet away, says Logitech.

A headset can be plugged into an auxiliary port when privacy is required, while an alert light plus all the controls to pick up and hang up calls, adjust volume and mute calls are on the device.
The Skype cordless handset has a 50 metre range, a colour LCD and will handle hands-free speakerphone. The US$99.99 cordless connects to a PC via the USB base station.pc_mobile_headset

Perhaps the most interesting of the product announced, however, is the highly versatile Cordless Headset for PC and Mobile Phones. The handsfree headset can be used for both PCs and mobile phone calls.

The headset comes with a USB wireless receiver that plugs into a desktop PC or laptop and offers an instant connection with the headset. The headset can also be connected directly to any Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.

The headset has a range of approximately 30 feet/10 meters and can even be teamed with Logitech's QuickCam webcams to make video calls on the PC.
The suggested retail price is US$99.99.
