ValueNet has appointed an ex-Siemens staffer to take control of its channel as it sets out to acquire more customers for its hosted VoIP services.

The company has also appointed a Senior Presales Engineer, David Helman, who will work with its growing partner community.

Joining from the role of General Manager at Siemens Communications, David Healy transfers his partner and revenue raising skills to the relatively new ValueNet.

His technical strength lies in voice over IP technology and the benefits it delivers to business. Prior to joining Siemens, Healy held various senior sales and sales management positions over an 11 year tenure at Telstra.

Healy will be National Manager, Strategic Partners, but the company is also looking to fill four more positions including a senior network architect and a provisioning manager.

He joins Jim Mather, ValueNet's General Manager, Sales and Marketing who joined last December.

"From a channel partner perspective, the opportunity to build an annuity revenue stream by selling the ValueNet hosted IP telephony solution is compelling. It provides genuine respite from falling margins on hardware and software sales," said Healy.

ValueNet has its own business grade QoS-enabled network based on Tekelec next-generation switching and signalling telecommunications platform supported by Cisco and Sun technology.

ValueNet is a part of the listed Lemarne Corporation and a sister company to C10 Communications which has been providing products and services to the telecommunications industry in Australia for over 15 years.
