The handset has a high-quality speaker and MP3 player built in which lets you stream songs via your Wi-Fi network.
It also includes remote controller functions and Microsoft Media Player support, allowing users to manage music library, and play, stop, pause and skip songs without being right next to the computer.

"The goal of digital home technologies is to share computer resource with other electronic devices around the house and provide greater convenience," said Joe Hsieh, Director of ASUS digital home business.

"The AiGuru S1 packed several practical features for easy and wireless access of PC functions. Skype, listen to music or even manage music library with this new product."

Unlike many of the Wi-Fi Skype devices we’ve seen to date, the ASUS handset supports 802.11b and 802.11g which gives it the extra network oomph needed to stream multimedia.

Like other wireless Skype phones, the AiGuru S1 does support Caller ID, phone book entries, call history, speaker phone for conference calls. It also has an answering machine function.

ASUS says the device also offers dual-audio channel which allows it to operate without interfering with other computer audio functions such as watching a DVD or playing games on the PC while making a free long distance call.
