Equinix Exchange Hosts Peering Forum |

Global data centre provider and Internet exchange, Equinix
has hosted an all day peering forum in Sydney.
The Forum follows on from successful peering events in
previous years, but this year featured a decidedly VoIP flavour with newly announced
Peering provider Symbio sharing the spotlight with a number of other Internet
industry speakers.
Rene Sugo, Director of Symbio Networks, presented at the Forum. While Market Clarity founder Shara Evans profiled the Australian market
for VoIP, exploring market demands.
Evans also discussed her involvement with the work of the Australian
Communications Industry Forum (ACIF) VoIP Working Group in setting standards
for the technology in Australia and examine the issues associated with VoIP
peering.
Other speakers on the day included Denver Maddux, Limelight
Networks; Christian Nielsen, Microsoft; John Lindsay, Internode and Elly
Tawhai, APNIC.
In addition, Bill Norton, chief technical liaison for Equinix, presented his latest research findings
on "The Next Wave of Internet Peering"
