Having put together a new convergence network using building
blocks from Cisco and Ericsson, Commander Communications is turning to the
SMB market with a solutions suite based on its OneStream
network.
Designed to ease the deployment of next gen services in the
SME space, the OneStream solutions set comprises a number of services and
hosted solutions into bundles you can pay for by the month.
For example, the first cab off the rank is called OneStream
Office and it bundles a hosted PBX solution, business-grade Internet and CPE
equipment including advanced IP phones. You get the phone calls thrown into the
bundle and pay for it at a set price per user per month.
The new IP, network is a "highly scalable IP Multimedia
Subsystem (IMS) platform based on the Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)
protocol".
It will allow Commander to bring a raft of solutions to market
including IP Telephony, data, VPNs and value-added services such as hosted
PBXs, converged services, presence management, unified messaging and audio and
video conferencing, says the company.
Adrian Coote, managing director of Commander claims the new
network positions the company as "one of the first carriers globally to offer
enhanced IP services on a Next-Generation IP Multimedia Network".
"IMS is the only standard architecture for multimedia
communication on one network that also enables fixed-mobility convergence for
both voice and data applications," he said.
