Residential VoIP provider MyNetFone has announced it reached
the 20,000 subscriber mark thanks to a 100 per cent increase in numbers over
the past six months.
MyNetFone listed on the stock exchange in May, 2006 and has
doubled in subscriber numbers since then, it said.
"Since IPO in May, and consistent with our business plan, we
have expanded our product offerings with a wide choice of customer gateways and
handsets to meet the market demand for affordable, reliable convergent
solutions." said Andy Fung, Managing Director of My Net Fone.
"We expect to continue the momentum of growth in 2007 with
My Net Fone well placed to maintain its position as a leading VoIP provider as
the uptake of broadband services in Australia continues to accelerate,"
he said.
MyNetFone is current trading at A$0.13 off a 52 week high of
A$0265.
The company, reached a milestone in July when it carried its
first 10 Million
Minutes in a month.
Since then it has released a pre-configured gateway
solution for the home, began offering its customers the ZyXEL Wi-Fi Phone,
and more recently began stocking a USB handset in a bundling deal via
retail outlets.
It has also launched VoIP services via Satellite and in October
added a number of staff to its SMB Team to help push
the managed bundles
for business which it introduced in September.
However, at 20,000 subscribers, the company lags behind service
provider Engin, which claims over 40,000 (the correct number is 49,000 as at October 31, 2006) subscribers and ISP ii-Net which
claims a similar number of registered users.
