Several Senior Skypers Sacked Says Blogger Print E-mail

VoIP blogger OM Malik is reporting that a number of senior Skype executives across Europe have been handed pink slips and told they have till the end of the year to tidy their desks.

The report claims that Skype underwent a "major reorganization" which included "axing the entire business development part of the company, barring a handful of country heads".

Malik says that Senior executives in Poland, France (Jerome Archambeaud, French Market Development Manager), UK (Alistair Shrimpton) and Italy have been let go in the re-org.

In total about 14 people are said to be leaving the company and a few more are being re-assigned to new locations and positions.

Most of the pain seems to be felt by pre-merger employees that have been with the company since before eBay acquired Skype. Would you believe that was more than a year ago, feels like only a couple of months.

There seems to have been a stream of Skype employees leaving the company over the last couple of months, which would make sense if it's been a year since the deal was done.
