Adam Internet is the first South Australian ISP to offer a triple play on its own ADSL2+ network.

With the impending launch of its Reeltime Movies on Demand service, engineered in conjunction with public company, Movies Online and in cooperation with major Hollywood distributors, the ISP adds the video to its existing voice and data services.

Adam Internet managing director Scott Hicks said the triple play service was made possible because of the company’s investment in a high-density ADSL2+ network.

Rather than “cherry pick” exchanges, Adam Internet has opted for blanket coverage in the southern state.

“We cover the widest area, and have the largest number of ADSL2+ exchanges in South Australia, currently operating with customers. This gives us critical local high density, and delivers speeds that are ideal for streaming movies,” said Hicks.

The Adam Internet service is also backhauled by its own fibre, in combination with fibre from ETSA Telecoms, enabling a rapid rollout of ADSL2+ services and placing the company well ahead of competitors. The company plans to equip 24 South Australian exchanges by the end of June.

The company was already offering Voice over IP services.
