Hoping to maintain the momentum he built with the now bankrupt Zultys, Tony Warhurst is championing a new horse in the race to bring advanced IP Telephony solutions to Australia's SME sector.

Warhurst, erstwhile Country Manager for SME VoIP  provider Zultys is back in Australia after spending time in the United States training on a new set of products designed to revolutionise small and medium enterprise communications and so far business looks promising he says.
"Its a lot easier second time around," says Warhurst alluding to the hard yards he put in to pioneer SME VoIP in this country. "We have really hit the ground running. We have over 12 resellers on board and have 20 plus installs in Australia New Zealand already," he says.
Warhurst was responsible for the only Zultys region in the black when the IP Telephony start-up suddenly hit the wall last October after it failed to raise additional funding.
Like some of his Zultys compatriots in Europe, Warhurst found a new home with ShoreTel, a company with many similarities to his previous employer. The product range has a different feature set, but there are many similarities between the companies, "except in success" says Warhurst.
Both we started in North America around 10 years ago, but where Zultys aggressively pursued globalisation early, ShoreTel established itself as a true tier one  first says Warhurst and has only recently begun branching out of the United States.
Warhurst, who was appointed as Managing Director SE Asia said the current strategy is to have just one distributed for Australia/New Zealand. Auckland -based Connector Systems is to be sole the distributor and has ramped its Australian presence adding engineering and Business Development bodies to services the ShoreTel business here.

Connector Systems has worked with ShoreTel for some time and has assisted the company to gain the various approvals required to enter the Oceania markets, explained Warhurst.
Key resellers already appointed to the ShoreTel dance card include Fast Track Communications, Qtech, PureTel, PTS Communications, ITT Communications, HEDLOC, Davicom, On-Line Communications Systems and CCG3 Communications.
The Zultys product line was ultimately rescued from oblivion when several Zultys staffers, backed by Israeli-based VoIP company, Telrad, acquired the remnants of the company in the bankruptcy courts.
According to reports, the new owners vowed not to pursue the aggressive expansionist strategies of the previous owners.
