In its second deal for the day Cisco consumer and SMB division, Linksys, is providing hardware for MyNetFone. The latter is looking for breakneck subscriber sing-up speed and hopes to increase its subscriber base by an additional 10,000 in the next few months.
MyNetFone is targeting SOHO and SME and expects to bring in more than A$250,000 in equipment sales for Linksys as well as an estimated $1M per annum in additional recurring revenue from the new subscribers.

The equipment the two partners have in mind provides two lines of VoIP telephone and fax service, said a company statement. The MNFSPA2100 equipment has been configured and customised specifically for the MyNetFone services with high reliability and encryption based security.

The customer premises equipment supports remote provisioning and dynamic, in-service software upgrades, MyNetFone will be able to provide efficient post-sales service and support to ensure maximum availability to its customers who demand reliable phone services for their homes and businesses.

"This offering further lowers the barriers of entry to VoIP for our customers by commoditising and driving it from the tech sector into the mainstream mass market. We expect this, and other initiatives in the near future, to result in significant subscriber growth of residential and small business users to theMyNetFone service ," said Fung.

The MNFSPA2100 will be available exclusively through MyNetFone's national reseller network from early April 2007.
