TeleSoft International today
introduced a CompactSIP SDK pre-ported to Windows Mobile 5.0 which will
mean chip makers and phone manufacturers can easily and quickly add SIP
VoIP capability.
The TeleSoft CompactSIP SDK features a ready-to-run stack of source
code software running as a Pocket PC ARM emulator that ports directly
to the 32-bit Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) processors.
The SDK makes it easy for developers to build the necessary base for
email, instant messaging, e-commerce, video, multimedia, navigation,
click-to-call, soft-phone and other broadband Internet applications
into new or enhanced smartphones, PDAs, Pocket PCs, datacards,
handsets, media players and other business and personal devices.
CompactSIP is available immediately to ODMs/OEMs, mobile
platform developers and semiconductor companies, but it has been "torture-tested" for three years, says TeleSoft.
This ensures "compliance and interoperability with industry standards
and real-world operation, current applications for the CompactSIP
include WiFi phones, media chips, gateways, set-top boxes, analog
telephone adapters (ATAs) that turn traditional telephones into IP
devices, and IP phones".
Available as small as 63KB, TeleSoft's
CompactSIP is the industry's leanest SIP stack. It is ideal for
applications that require the smallest memory footprint, long battery
life, highest performance, and fastest path to market. In addition to
Windows Mobile 5.0, CompactSIP also supports many other operating
systems, including Nucleus, Linux, VxWorks, MQX, Micrium, uCLinux and
Windows CE.
