Australian network and communications vendor, NetComm has beefed up the Business Development ranks in its VoIP department stealingISPhone's Beth McKenzie from her previous role to accelerate its SME VoIP ambitions.
Mackenzie has been on the payroll at NetComm a few weeks now as Business Development Manager, but the copmany has made an official announcement of her appointment, saying its new team member will be put to work strengthening relationships with emerging service providers such as IP network providers, satellite-basedISPs and the traditional IT sales and integration channel.

Mackenzie, who has more than 10 years of experience in the ICT industry, will also get involved in the development of new business in the DSLAM space.

"We welcome Beth as an integral part of [the] BDM team as VoIP and ADSL continue to be strong business drivers for NetComm," said David Stewart, Managing Director of NetComm. The VoIP area has been a steady focus for NetComm and we believe that Beth's appointment increases our ability to service this sector of the market."

"We are also seeing the emergence of specialised Internet Protocol Service Providers (IPSPs) in addition to ISPs, satellite operators and systems integrators all of whom are driving more Broadband uptake and innovation in services," continued David. "These are key partners and customers for NetComm. Beth's appointment strengthens our existing team, and continues on our strategy to strengthen and growing these relationships."

Prior to joining NetComm, Mackenzie spent eight years with the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG) growing and expanding the business. She also acted as spokesperson on behalf of the end user in a number of telecommunication related issues.
