More consolidation likely as hosted VoIP provider Nuvio picks up the VoIP related assets of South Carolina VoIP provider, Ionosphere.
Nuvio Corporation is a provider of hosted VoIP solutions for business. Nuvio's solutions are distributed through a channel comprised of network integrators, VARs, service providers, and telecom agents. It also provides products through a private labelled wholesale arrangement.

"We are very excited about the staff and customers of Ionosphere joining the Nuvio family. We believe that our technology, reliability, and stability will offer Ionosphere customers industry-leading features and quality of service," said Jason P. Talley, president and CEO of Nuvio. "These customers should be excited at the expanded scope of our product offerings, including our hosted PBX product, nPBX, to deploy in their businesses."

"Our ability to know exactly how our technology works and to rapidly make any changes to our codebase allowed us to easily and seamlessly convert customers from Ionosphere's switching platform to ours, with minimal disruptions to our new customers," he said.

Nuvio said it would continue to consider acquisitions that complement its focus on hosted PBX and wholesale business.

"We will aggressively pursue opportunities that enhance our business and provide an opportunity for us to extend our stable and reliable services to new customers. We view this successful acquisition as merely the first of many," said Talley.
