BT is promising to make you a communications service provider literally overnight with the launch of a Managed Services solution in conjunciton with Median, A German company specialising in developing and providing telco solutions.
Intended as a simple and speedy way for ISPs, cable providers and other resellers to deliver VoIP-based services, the new offering is meant for providers outside the United Kingdom. It allows new entrants to "become a communication provider overnight", without all that messy infrastructure business normally associated with being a telco.

The solution is based on BTs global IP network. A single web-based interface gives the user an efficient tool to monitor call flow and control expenses.

The IP Voice Managed Service is one of a range of 21C operator services, which take advantage of BT's global experience to provide a new generation of richer and more customised services to enable 21C communication providers.

Karsten Lereuth, president BT Global Telecom Markets, said: "In this changing world the main challenges for network operators and service providers are to handle new technologies, to avoid high and hazardous investments and to reduce their operational expenditure. Next generation networks and systems enable communication providers to deliver innovative services, increase speed to market and improve customer service whilst benefiting from significant cost savings.

"BT IP Voice Managed Service offers communication providers a straightforward and easy-to-use platform - an ‘out-of-the-box' solution - that simplifies the delivery of IP telephony services without huge investments or technology knowledge. We have kept this offering as simple to use as possible - any person who can work with Microsoft Windows can use BT IP Voice Managed Service. The whole solution is Microsoft-enabled to provide both new entrants and existing telecoms providers access to an exciting and expanding market," he said.

Median already receives termination and transit services from BT Global Telecom Markets and has been intensively testing the new IP Voice Managed Service. Stefan Voigt, Chief Operations Officer at MEDIAN Telecom said: "BT develops new services in close cooperation with customers to ensure that these propositions meet market requirements. With the new IP Voice Managed Service, BT Global Telecom Markets has proven its flexibility to recognise market trends and to deliver compelling solutions."

BT IP Voice Managed Service is now available through BT Global Services Global Telecom Markets line of business.
