Apple users can download a public beta of Skype for Mac 2.6 which adds goodies such as Call Transfer and the new Prime Premium Services.
The new version also includes reminders and notifications for appointments, better audio quality and the ability to join in on Public Chats.

This version also brings Automatic Updates to the softphone so that it can update to a new version without having to visit the Skype website and manually download a new version.

The feature, which debuts on the Mac version of Skype first, enables you to transfer ongoing Skype calls to other users on your Skype contact list. The new version also sports improved audio quality and better stability.

The new feature list demonstrates the effort Skype has put into the Mac client over the past nine months after spending most of last year fending off criticism that it was neglecting the Apple OS X as the Windows version had significantly better functionality including major features such as video conferencing.

You can download the public Beta software here.
