Broadband telephone network provider, the Sydney-based Freshtel has kicked off a marketing campaign to increase its subscriber base in Australia.

The company is currently offering its Freshtel 3010 ATA free to subscribers that commit to a A$9.95 per month plan for 12 month (12 x $9.95 = 119.40). The phone adapter is valued at A$129.95.

Alternatively, users that buy the phone adapter outright PLUS sign up to the 12 x $9.95 plan can get a bonus $129.95 worth of calls.

The monthly A$9.95 plan includes an Australian telephone number, A$0.10 National calls and A$0.29 mobile calls with no flagfall or call setup fees.

Participating retailers include: JB Hi-Fi, Clive Peeters, Clive Anthonys, Officeworks or any of Freshtel's retail partners.

Although the Sydney based company began life focusing on offering private label services, the company has increasingly shown a willingness to push its retail offerings. The Australian company has also historically focused off shore, signing major deals with the likes of UK-retailer,Tesco.

On the hardware front, Freshtel has an ongoing relationship wit Binatone, but the 3010 ATA pre-dates that relationship. This first generation Analog Telephone Adapter has limited functionality and allows the user to connect a standard phone to their broadband connection.
