SIP Softphone Gets All Social Print E-mail

Softphone developer, Counterpath, which is responsible for eyeBeam and the free X-Lite softphones has announced an agreement to work with the develop the world's first whitelabel social networking suite, YFonGlobal.



The social networking start up provides a turnkey solutions that works across both Windows and Mac and offers a full suite of instant messaging, video calling and VoIP over Internet phone calling capabilities.

YFonGlobal is an established social networking software developer responsible for the wyndstorm platform, which will benefit from the SIP-based CounterPath integration.

"By partnering with CounterPath in integrating their calling technology, wyndstormTM customers and community members will enjoy the most advanced, secure and collaborative communication environment available on the market today," said Marian Sabety, President and CEO of YFonGlobal.

"YFonGlobal is thrilled to launch this latest version of wyndstorm, which is among the first platforms in the social network industry to offer integrated voice/video calling and Instant Messaging (IM) capabilities, enabling customers to offer a more dynamic and interactive communication experience to their members."

As a result of this collaboration, members of private-labeled wyndstorm social networks will be able to engage in Instant Messaging, and  make and receive voice and video calls with other wyndstorm community members worldwide. Users will also have an option to make international voice and video calls to people outside the wyndstorm community. Popular CounterPath softphone features including Caller ID, Conferencing, Call Waiting, Voice Mail, Call Logs and Do Not Disturb, will be included in the integrated product. The new capabilities will be available to users on both Windows and Mac operating systems.

The first implementation of this integrated social network and calling solution will be MyGK, a 1.6 million international student online community (www.goldenkey.org), launching in May 2007 with a focus on safe collaboration, search and sharing.
