Telecommunication provider  People Telecom has done a deal with the Australian Retailers Association (ARA) that will allow members to access cheaper telecommunications bundles.

The 10,000 plus members of the ARA could save significant amount on their telecommunications spend, says People Telecom.

The packages to be offered under the new partnership will be available exclusively to the ARA members nationally and will include potential savings of up to 25% on their current telecommunications spend as well as customised retail solutions aimed at increasing mobility, productivity and therefore profitability, the junior telco said in a statement to the ASX.

The packages designed for the small to medium enterprise space will bundle fixed and mobile telephony with Voice over broadband or VoIP telephony.

People Telecom CEO John Stanton welcomed the new partnership. "This agreement provides a solid platform for People Telecom to deliver innovative, cost effective retail-focused telecommunications solutions to the ARA and its members," Mr Stanton said.

Stanton said People Telecom's strength lay in the ability to combine fixed and mobile services with broadband and VoIP applications in a user-friendly package that offers great value to SME customers.

The ARA is a cohesive nationwide organisation which is recognised as representing the interests of Australian retailers whilst providing information and services to its members.

"We are delighted to have cemented this new partnership with People Telecom. The offering to our members of competitive telecommunication costs and great service will bring lasting benefits", ARA Executive Director, Shaw said.
