Kicking off its Microsoft Communications offering with a wired headset should ensure GN can deliver a high quality solution with its Jabra GN2000 USB headset. The headset is based on a model already used in many contacts since late 2005, and has features such as PeakStop technology, which truncates sudden loud noises above 118dB SPL to protect the user from audio attack.

On the other hand, a key feature is that the headset offers true wideband audio. With a full frequency response up to 6,800Hz, the headset is said to it deliver superior VoIP audio quality without complex deployment. Being USB, the headset is very simple to install. Users simply connect it to their PC via the USB port and it is ready to take advantage of the many features in Office Communicator 2007, says the manufacturer.

The Jabra GN2000 USB headset is just the first in a full range of products planned for Office Communicator 2007.

"We are delighted to be on the path of qualification," said Jan McNair, VP GN. "Jabra headsets are designed to deliver superb call clarity, hands-free mobility and enhanced comfort. Those features are core to the Jabra GN2000 and we believe that in combination with Office Communicator 2007, office workers everywhere will be better able to communicate with their colleagues and customers, making them even more productive than they are today."

"GN is playing an important role in the development of headsets qualified for use with Office Communicator 2007," said Chris Cullin, Director of Technical Product Management for the Unified Communications Group at Microsoft.

"Through cooperative efforts and the integration of the GN2000 USB with Office Communicator 2007, GN is adding significant value to PC-based enterprise communications and enabling companies to better and more efficiently connect people, information, and business processes," he said.
