ISPhone has updated its service provider white paper titled "The VoIP Business Opportunity: An Introduction for Service Providers," releasing the second edition looking at the opportunities from an updated business perspective.

The first edition of the paper which examines business strategies for people and organizations planning to offer VoIP services, was published in 1999, just as VoIP was experiencing its initial surge in growth and popularity, says the company.

"Since we published the first edition, the VoIP industry has grown enormously," said Victor von Schlegell, ISPhone's president. "It has also become more competitive, and new models of service delivery have evolved."

"With almost 10 years of experience, we're able to provide valuable insight to those interested in entering the market, while enabling current service providers to stay aware of changing trends in the industry," said von Schlegell.

The white paper offers information that should be relevant to any individual or organization interested in the VoIP industry.

The paper covers a variety of subjects, including:
  • Evolution of IP communications
  • Overview of VoIP
  • Options for offering VoIP services
  • Asterisk open-source PBX
  • Business Planning for VoIP resellers
  • Implementing VoIP services
  • Building an IP Network
