NEC Australia's new Univerge universal communications sclient is designed to give small-to-medium businesses a place to intelligently manage all their communications. The single desktop application combines voice and unified messaging and provides presence.

NEC says the solution simplifies and enhances the entire voice messaging process, combining messaging functions and presence management into one comprehensive voice/unified messaging system. This also makes Univerge Communications Centre easy to use, install and maintain.

Kent Hart, Executive General Manager - Technology Group of NEC Australia, said, "We understand how important excellent communications are to building and maintaining vital customer relationships and UNIVERGE Communications Centre allows employees to have quick access to information that is invaluable to their Business.

"Through its presence feature UNIVERGE Communications Centre makes it simpler and easier for users to keep in contact and work with their colleagues and customers, wherever they are."

The Univerge Communications Centre enables integrated and better utilisation of customer information by bringing unified voicemail/email, presence management, caller recognition, call history logging and even customised voicemail greetings to suit specific callers and scenarios.

The application, which is integrated with the telephony solution, offers single point administration and offers users an intuitive and easy-to-use single desktop user interface.

"The solution enables businesses to experience unprecedented responsiveness and communications, anytime and anywhere, resulting in increased levels of customer satisfaction,'" said Hart. "This new release introduces capabilities that will dramatically improve the productivity of employees and cost-effectively deliver Unified Communications to small and medium-sized businesses."
