After announcing that it had reached 20,000 paying subscribers in late November 2006, publicly listed VoIP telephony service provider MyNetFone said it had more than 35,000 paying subscribers by the end of the 2006/2007 Fiscal year.
The company, which listed with 10,000 subscribers in May 2006 says this
latest number "confirms the continuing upward trend of customer take up
of the MYNetFone service and represents the confidence and support the
market is giving the company".
It took the company six months to get from 10,000 customers to 20,000
and a little over 7 months to get from 20,000 to 35,000. The company
took on an additional A$1 million in equity earlier in the week with
half coming from investors and the other half coming from peering
partner Symbio Networks.
"More and more users are seeing the value of joining MyNetFone as
awareness of our service and its benefits spread. Last month alone we
signed up over 5,000 new customers. MyNetFone is now a force to be
reckoned with in the Australian service provider arena," said Andy
Fung, Managing Director of My Net Fone Limited.
"We continue to build-up our service infrastructure; develop technical
and customer service capabilities to support a rapidly expanding
customer base, " said Fung. "The company is this well positioned to
take advantage of the continuing broadband roll-out in Australia and
the increasing Internet adoption by users for both business and
personal applications."
