The iPhone CIT400 is the iPhone that America is not currently going crazy about, but the latest Linksys offering bears the same name thanks to a Trademark sharing deal Cisco cut with Apple back at the beginning of the year.

The iPhone Dual-Mode Internet Telephony Kit with Skype (CIT400) is a new dual-mode wireless handset and base-station package that connects to your home Ethernet network and an existing standard telephone line to allows users to make calls either with Skype or their regular PSTN phone line without the need for a computer.

The CIT400 is part of the Linksys iPhone family of products and it costs considerably less than the Apple mobile phone that shares its name. Available immediately in Australia, the CIT400 base station and phone carries a Recommended Retail Price of A$239.95.

"As the next generation of handheld devices, Linksys iPhone voice solutions and products are changing the way people communicate with their friends, family and colleagues. They enable compelling internet services, allow consumers to know when their contacts are available for calls, and offer access to personal content like music, movies and live video cameras." said Graeme Reardon, regional director for Australia and New Zealand at Linksys.

"With the CIT400 as an example, users can save money on voice calls and enjoy the convenience of making and receiving Skype calls whether they are in the home or office. In addition, the CIT400 also supports making standard phone calls. Users can have a choice to make calls to Skype users or over an existing standard telephone line, without the need for a PC at all." he added.
