It seems everyday, the inbox is blessed with another announcement illustrating the evermore substantial infrastructure supporting both business and consumer VoIP implementation and take-up.

In today's news handset manufacturer, German company, snom technology, has announced the launch of an international partner program for distributors and value added resellers.

The IP telephony company says the program will give its partners the "necessary tools to provide snom customers worldwide with an optimal level of service".

The program will classify distribution partners into three categories - distributors, gold distributors, or platinum distributors depending on their capabilities.

  • Distributors will receive a Web page listing and second level support.
  • Gold distributors get that plus be able to take part in special annual training sessions and receive industry-specific marketing support.
  • Platinum partners will receive the same benefits as gold distributors and also have access to direct technical support.

All partners will have access to firmware updates before their official release and to new products while they are still in the beta phase.

Value Added Resellers handling VoIP implementations using snom phones will will be classified as either registered or certified.

"We have had plans to strengthen partnerships with our resellers for quite some time. This program will help to establish clear prerequisites for partners interested in working with snom," said Michael Knieling, CFO and executive vice president of marketing and sales for snom . "In the end, the result will be higher transparency for our customers as well as for specialist dealers and system integrators in regards to the capabilities of our distribution partners."

Partners will attend regular annual training sessions. For the remainder of 2007, training sessions are scheduled to take place in Berlin; Dallas; Johannesburg, South Africa; Madrid, Spain; Montreal; Rome; and Toronto. snom will also offer training, including tests, for distributors and specialist dealers through Webinars.
