Commander
Communications has signed a deal to provide a voice and data system for
kitchen and laundry retailer Kleenmaid. The contract follows an earlier
deal where Commander provided an end-to-end IP solution in December
2006.
The Commander, Nortel system used Nortel IP PBX equipment
and with the deployment of a Nortel CS1000S PABX system, IP handsets,
contact centre software, voicemail and voice
recording system created a contact centre inKleenmaid's head
office.
The
new national IP network will link Kleenmaid's new head office in
Maroochydore
and its data centre in Brisbane as well as the 34 retail outlets across
Australia. The single, converged solution involves more than voice. The
OneStream MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) network and IP
Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) VoIP Softswitch form a converged platform
for business critical
voice and data.
The system operates as a national converged IP VPN with OneStream Phone Lines and traditional Phone Lines at the retail stores
Steve
Evans, group general manager enterprise, Commander Communications,
said: "Kleenmaid's brand promise is ‘The Best You Can Own' - a
philosophy that reflects as much in the business solutions Kleenmaid
chooses as it does in the quality of products they sell to customers."
David Ingram-Johnson, IT Manager, Kleenmaid: said "Kleenmaid
has enjoyed a successful relationship with Commander with a very robust
data network and the implementation of an IP based PABX system."
"Selecting
Commander to provide a converged telecommunications network is the next
logical step towards providing a converged technology platform to our
users. The converged network provides greater data bandwidth to all our
stores along with improved telephony call rates.
"Initially 15
of our 34 stores nationally will enjoy access to significantly higher
bandwidth which will allow us to consider the delivery of additional
functional benefits including content management, IP telephony
(providing free inter-office calls), in store cameras and video
conferencing," said Ingram-Johnson.
