Healthe, a leading service provider of health and wellness services, has contracted Verizon Business to implement a global voice and data network to link its Singapore headquarters with its primary business locations in Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

Under the three-year contract, to consolidate its network operations with Verizon Business, the health and wellness provider will look to improve its overall network performance, as well as develop a platform for future business-critical applications and advanced IP communications tools.

To support its expanding operations, Healthe needed a colocation partner that also could provide global network infrastructure and fully managed services. After an extensive evaluation, Healthe selected Verizon Business for its combination of global expertise and secure and private network infrastructure strength, says as company statement.

Verizon Business will provide a fully managed Private IP network along with Data Centre Colocation and Managed Security services.

Alan Payne, CIO of Healthe, said: "A secure and reliable health care-centric network infrastructure is absolutely critical for us as we continue to link multiple health care applications around the world. With Verizon Business underpinning our systems, they can be scaled to support 1 million-plus users, and having Verizon Business fully manage the network means that we can focus on our customers rather than on building a network. Verizon Business essentially offers us an efficient, world-class network infrastructure and people with the expertise to meet our specific operational requirements."

Andrew Dobbins, regional vice president Asia Pacific, Verizon Business said: "Organisations today need a robust infrastructure that can easily scale to meet their ongoing business needs. Verizon Business' expansive global IP network and Managed Services support are backed by stringent network service level agreements (SLAs). Healthe can therefore rest assured that we will continue to provide the infrastructure and the expertise to support its expanding business requirements."

Founded in 2002, Healthe provides a broad range of health services and solutions to help people manage and improve their health and well-being. The company operates the largest privately owned, private-hospital network in Australia, state-of-the-art sports performance database systems, and an online health and wellness portal with a personal health record at the core.
