Launching
a new generation of
converged IP-PBX solutions and a new division to market it, Australia
is the first country where Panasonic has brought all its communications
products including Business Telephone Systems, Home Communications and
Ethernet Devices into one division.
Brett McInnes, Director, of the newly formed Communication Products Group, says Panasonic formed the CPG in response to increasing trends towards converged communications solutions.
"Our customers want trusted advice on how to best utilise these new technologies to increase productivity, improve customer service, save costs, and enhance end-users' quality of life," he said. "By streamlining communication between the factory, Panasonic Australia, channel partners and end-users, the new division ensures we are adding value at every stage of the process."
A major focus of the CPG will no doubt be the new KX-TDE series IP-PBX which targets small to medium Australian businesses. "Panasonic has drawn on its extensive experience in supporting SME telephony requirements to design the TDE series IP-PBX solution. An SME owner can take comfort that Panasonic communication solutions are best-in-class and their investment is future-proof," McInnes said.
A familiar name to small business PBX buyer's Panasonic's KX-TDE IP-PBX series allows companies to scale up to a converged voice and data solution, supporting the latest Panasonic IP handsets and SIP technology. SIP is also used to connect the TDE directly to VoIP service providers.
Panasonic has also launched a new range of IP handsets (the NT300 series) designed to integrate with the KX-TDE IP-PBX system. The intuitive handsets offer enhanced usability and reduce desktop cable clutter. Phone features include Bluetooth for wireless headset support, dual Ethernet port, power over Ethernet, easy electronic self-labelling and separate tilt adjustment for phone base and display. The new handsets are available from September 1 in black or white.
"The new KX-TDE IP-PBX also gives our substantial existing installed customer base a smooth upgrade path, with support for current handsets. This new solution is available from September 1, and is highly anticipated by our Authorised Dealer network," said Jerry Ng, Product Manager, Communication Products Group, Panasonic.
The IP PBX has built-in mobile integration features which are activated with an optional licence key-code and will allows staff to use a single local office number anytime, anywhere, through simultaneous ringing of their office telephone and mobile handset with the phone acting as an extension of the IP-PBX.
Bundled withthe device is a standard ten licences for Panasonic's Phone Assistant Express which is a suite of Desktop Productivity applications that integrate with the KX-TDE to provide a variety of collaboration tools that simplify and enhance real-time communications such as the ability to integrate with a Panasonic IP Camera for remote reception management and security monitoring.
Staff can remotely answer the doorphone, visually verify the identity of the person at the front door through the Phone Assistant application on the PC and then remotely unlock the front door for the person to enter. Several IP cameras can be integrated to the Phone Assistant. Integration of the new KX-NCV200 ACD Report Server with the TDE provides SMEs with a valuable business tool - including voicemail and Call Centre real-time management and reporting functionality. This allows SMEs to affordably run a call centre environment, improve business productivity and collect business data for analysis.
Supervisors can see the status and activity of all of call groups in real time. example, which agents are logged in, what each agent is doing, who each is talking to, and whether it's an incoming or outgoing call as well as who is in wrap-up time or break mode.
Supervisors can also view real-time call statistics, including how many calls are waiting, how many calls have been handled, how many were lost and how many were abandoned. A full suite of reports can be generated to show historical data and individual or group reports can easily be exported to standard CSV format for further processing by third party applications such as Microsoft Excel.
"We've been speaking to customers about the new Panasonic TDE range and are confident about our sales pipeline consequently," said Erin Littlefair, Senior Communications Consultant at Command-A-Com, a Panasonic Premier Authorised Dealer. "In fact, there are some customers who would have bought it yesterday if it were available. Panasonic solutions work very well right from a straightforward communications requirement up to a more complex environment, and customers have become very accustomed to the quality, scalability and value of Panasonic's products."
Pricing starts from $10,228 RRP (GST inclusive) for a base TDE200 IP-PBX system excluding IP phones and connections to the public switched network. The base TDE system is licensed to support up to 32 NT-300 series IP phones.
The RRP of a single license of the Panasonic Phone Assistant Professional (KX-NCS1101X) is $250 (GST inclusive).
