The Communications Alliance has released a new Information Guide for VoIP Service Providers that stresess the need for service providers to offer up-to-date and relevant information for customers.

The new guide is a companion document to the 2006 Communications Alliance ‘So you want a VoIP service' Customer Booklet, and offers assistance to VoIP Service Providers in understanding the types of responses to customers' questions.

"With the swell of consumer interest in VoIP services, Communications Alliance see it as an imperative that service providers have the most up-to-date and relevant information available for their customers and prospective customers", said Anne Hurley, CEO of Communications Alliance.

The Service Provider Guide covers the areas such as service features and applications, customer premises, faults, billing, customer protection issues and customer service.

The Guide has been developed as a ‘live document', and will include regular updates to reflect the ongoing and ever changing developments and issues within the VoIP industry. Communications Alliance encourages open and two-way communication with members of the industry to assist with the ongoing development of the Guide.

Soft copies of the Guide and Customer Booklet are available for Service Providers to download at: http://www.commsalliance.com.au/activities/voip

Hard copies of the Customer Booklet are available on request.
