Sony, Skype Team Up ON PSP |

The latest PlayStation Portable, the Sony PSP-2000
is reportedly going to be Skype enabled allowing gamer to not only do
in game chat, but to make standard phone calls via SkypeOut on the
Skype network.
Sony Computer Entertainment announced Skype features will
be added to the new slim and light PSP-2000 series which will allow
free Skype2Skype calls. The system will be presence-enabled and will
have contact list management, SkypeIn and access to account features
and details over a WiFi network.
The Skype capabilities will be offered through a simple system software
update scheduled in late January. The new firmware will add a Skype
icon to the Network category in the home menu. Users will be able to
sign up for a Skype account right from theirPSP.
To use Skype on the PSP, however, users will need Memory Stick Duo and a Skype-compatible audio input device as well as the wireless Internet connection.
The PSP-2000 version of Sony's handheld gaming platform was released in September 2007. It is 33 per cent
lighter and nearly 20 per cent thinner than the original PlayStation Portable.
