Insightful Solutions has announced Australian and New Zealand availability of Fonality's trixbox Pro following a merger of the two companies last year.

The trixbox Pro core is a highly stabilised version of the open source telephony platform, Asterisk. Lab testing shows a 600 per cent performance improvement for busy systems with high task concurrency. Fonality has added about 40,000 lines of code to enhance the system. This unique patent-pending architecture is designed to combine the reliability of a premise-based solution with the flexibility of a hosted solution.

Like a hosted solution, users get free inter-office calling, easy telecommuters, anywhere management, and monitoring. But, like a premise solution, they also get rock-solid PSTN connectivity, advanced premise-style features, and complete call privacy.

CEO of Insightful Solutions, Marc Englaro, said “trixbox Pro is an affordable, highly functional and scalable software-based IP PABX system that delivers enterprise-class features at small business prices. These features include auto-attendant, unified messaging between voicemail and email, in-house conference rooms, branch locations, home workers and presence management.

“In addition to traditional PSTN dialing and PBX features, trixbox Pro includes an embedded corporate chat server, advanced call centre features and the ability to integrate with Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce.com and SugarCRM.”

The trixbox Pro product is available immediately in Australia and New Zealand. Pricing starts at $A1,685 + $7.05 p/month ex GST.

Australian CRM company Insightful Solutions merged with Fonality in November last year on the basis that the open source SugarCRM specialist could provide unique functionality to the Fonality phone system which is also built on the Asterisk open source code.

Insightful Solutions began operations in 2005 and has customers throughout the Asia Pac region. The solutions, which are generally delivered as a hosted solution are integrated with Asterisk to allow for phone integration with the Sugar customer relationship management software.
