Mitel has launched a SIP Trunking solution via its wide area networking division, Mitel
NetSolutions. The division will now target medium and large businesses expanding on the competitive local
exchange (CLEC) services it has in in 31 states and the District of Columbia.
The Mitel NetSolutions division has been bolstered by the
company's acquisition of Inter-Tel allowing it to add SIP trunking to
the CLEC services and MPLS networks already on the product list.
Mitel NetSolutions SIP Business
Trunks will have from six to 32
trunks and 1.5 to 3MB of Internet access and are optimised to capitalise on the advanced
features present in the Inter-Tel 5000
and the Mitel 3300
IP Communications Platform (ICP). Customers
also receive 500 minutes per trunk for U.S. long-distance and unlimited local
calls.
Other
services include Local Number Portability, caller ID, E-911 audio conferencing
and other productivity enhancing tools
"With this
new service offering, we are providing a cost-effective choice for enterprises
to simplify the deployment of VoIP," said Jon Brinton, senior vice
president of Mitel NetSolutions.
"Mitel NetSolutions SIP Business Trunks
service overcomes the major challenge in deploying SIP trunking allowing
customers to realize all the benefits of reduced costs and best-of-breed
multi-vendor product integration without the associated risks."
