Alcatel has announced Hilary Mine, who is currently the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Channel Management in North America, will become the new CEO for Alcatel in the Australasia region.
Andrew Young who has held the CEO role since January 2004 has decided to leave the company. Mine will takeover from October 1 to cover Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. She will re-locate from the US to Sydney to take up the role.
Christian Reinaudo, President of Alcatel’s Asia Pacific activities, said “Hilary will bring a wealth of senior management experience in telecommunications into her new role. Her experience and knowledge, particularly in expanding areas including converged services, triple play and IP telephony will be invaluable in leading the company to success in what is currently a highly dynamic and evolving industry. We are very excited to have her join the team.”
Mine joined Alcatel in 2002, prior to which she was executive VP of Probe Research, a research company specialising in telecommunications, IP and wireless. Mine received her B.A. in Economics from Reed College, and her M.B.A. from San Francisco State University.
