iVox, provider of carrier-grade, white-label wholesaler VoIP services today announced it has appointed specialist VoIP engineer Jack Fong to the newly-created position of Senior Engineer.
In this role, Fong will lead the iVox team in ensuring 24x7 operations of iVox’s carrier-grade VoIP network, including VoIP and third party IP services that iVox resellers offer to residential, SOHO and SME customers.

Fong brings to iVox more than two decades’ experience in network engineering. This includes 15 years with Nortel, most recently providing technical support across Asia Pacific and China on Nortel’s next generation VoIP and TDM networks. Prior to this, he worked as Telstra’s Principal Systems Engineer, establishing the carrier’s OAS Development and Test Centre.

Fong holds degrees in Engineering (Electrical) Science (Computer Science and Mathematics) from Sydney University.

iVox CEO, Romain Bonjean, said that, “One of iVox’s market strengths is supporting resellers who bundle our VoIP with other IP services to build compelling packages for end users. Our strength relies absolutely on iVox’s VOIP networks being absolutely reliable and interoperable with third party offerings.

“With his specialist understanding of VoIP networks, Jack Fong certainly has the expertise to ensure iVox’s VoIP remains a 100 percent reliable proposition for our resellers. Beyond that, Jack also has the conceptual ability to envisage the next generation of VoIP, to realise VoIP as the disruptive technology that can, and is, changing the way voice communications are delivered.

“iVox is extremely pleased that Jack Fong has chosen to join us, and we look forward to him leading our engineering capacity into the future,” said Bonjean.

Jack Fong added, “VoIP technology, which is expanding to embrace allied IP technologies, is certainly the area in which great advances are being made. It is an exciting time to be in this industry, and I am looking forward to working with iVox – as one of the industry’s leaders – in the months and years ahead.”
