Network hardware manufacturer, NETGEAR, has teamed up with VoIP provider Broadband Phone to develop quick-to-market, wholesale VoIP solution for ISPs.

The partnership will see a wholesale VoIP solution made available for local ISPs via a flexible bundle that can be branded and customised to suit their own requirements.

“As broadband increasingly penetrates the local market, Australian consumers are looking to do more with their bandwidth and many are turning to VoIP, taking advantage of the various benefits and costs savings this technology has to offer,” said Ryan Parker, Director of Partnerships and Services, NETGEAR. “ISPs must be able to meet this demand in order to maintain and grow their existing customer base. This is why we have developed our latest wholesale solution in conjunction with Broadband Phone, allowing ISPs to add this service to their portfolio without having to invest in expensive VoIP infrastructure.”

The cost of the solution depends on the level of customisation required. ISPs are able to select their own call rates, payment plans and service pricing, and can bill customers directly with a branded invoice. Broadband Phone provides a simple provisioning system that allows ISPs to activate/de-activate accounts, order and cancel phone numbers (DIDs), download call details, access daily summaries and check statements. For customer support purposes, the portal also allows ISPs and their customers to see all call details in real time.

“Our new solution allows ISPs to market VoIP under their own brand and add value to their existing service line, driving their own pricing, billing structure, customer service and technical support,” said Miranda Wong, Director, Broadband Phone. “Broadband Phone provides ISPs with the customised service and back-end system, and NETGEAR supplies the hardware required to deliver this technology to end-users.

“Our service is fully compliant with NETGEAR products, enabling ISPs to deliver a high-quality service to end-users and successfully stake their claim in the growing VoIP market.”

ISPs can purchase a VoIP trial pack before investing in the complete wholesale solution in order to ascertain how the service can best benefit their business and customers. The pack costs $550 and includes two NETGEAR TA612V Broadband Voice Adapters, 10 Broadband Phone service accounts with $100 prepaid credit and two real phone numbers.
